The 2009 prize giving ceremony was held on the 17th December. Because of the very numbers involved the event was again held in the College Restaurant. The guest speaker this year was Ciaran Hinds, past pupil and actor. The star of Rome, Persuasion, Jane Eyre, Munich. Ivanhoe and countless others recounted his experiences in the College and praised how it had prepared him for his career. He made the point that a true actor should desire not fame and fortune but continuous opportunity to act and if successful the rest will follow. Ciaran is to feature in the next Harry Potter movie as Ampleforth Dumbledore’s Brother.
