Personal Fitness Profiles

Each pupil that attends St Malachy’s College has a Personal Fitness Profile.  They will carry out a fitness test at the beginning and end of each year, from Year 8 to Year 12.
These tests serve a number of purposes, which are outlined below.

1)  Indicate levels of fitness
2)  Encourage pupils to monitor their fitness levels
3)  Encourage pupils to maintain a healthy   lifestyle
4)  Identify what areas of fitness need to be  improved

The fitness test consists of numerous exercises which assess the pupils’ limits in the following areas:

·        Strength
·        Flexibility
·        Stamina

The profile that each pupil receives in Year 8 is kept and used each year so that the pupil can see how they have improved from Year 8 to Year 12.
