Year 9 and Year 11 Irish students at St Malachy’s had the opportunity to have their hard work and enthusiasm for the language rewarded at the College’s annual Scéim na bhFáinní (Fáinne Scheme).

There is a strong tradition of Irish in the school and this was reflected in the impressive numbers of Cúpla Focal and Fáinne Airgid awarded.

Fifty-Four students in Year 9 achieved their Cúpla Focal badge; a further fifty students in Year 11 sat their Fáinne Airgid exam – the pass rate of which was 100%!
