St Malachy’s AC had a superb weekend in Virginia, County Cavan where they captured the Ulster U19 Cross Country team title and Patrick Robb (Year 14) picked up the individual title.

Mr McAlister described how Patrick ‘led an excellent team performance supported by James Smyth (6th), Darryl McNicholl (9th) and Chris Connolly (20th)’. Robb ‘pulled away from the U18 Ulster Champion, Oisin Gallan (of Finn Valley) on a brutally tough hill half way through the fourth (and final) lap to extend his lead and win the race by over 10 seconds at the finish’.

Congratulations to the athletes involved, Mr McAlister and Mr Cooke on this achievement.
