Past pupil, Dr Michael McKillop returned to the College this month to address all staff about the dangers of concussion and ‘Second Impact Syndrome’.
At the presentation, Dr McKillop (who currently works in the Accident and Emergency Department of The Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast) outlined the symptoms to look out for and gave sage advice about the action to take if concussion is suspected.
The session proved very informative and as a follow up all students received a leaflet to take home to parents about this issue.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Dr McKillop for taking the time out of his busy schedule to visit the College and raise awareness of concussion and its risks.
