So close for College in U12 Cup Final

So close for College in U12 Cup Final

The Year 8 soccer team can hold their heads high after a narrow 2-1 defeat to St Columb’s College, Derry in the final of the U12 NI Secondary Schools Cup on Thursday 18th April. In a game where both defences were very much on top, three fantastic goals decided the match. Keegan O’Connor levelled with a tremendous free kick from the edge of the box, only for St Columb’s to score the winner with 2 minutes remaining. To reach the final the boys had played every game away from home, defeating St Kevin’s College, Lisnaskea (9-0), Belfast Boys’ Model (3-1), De La Salle College, Belfast (5-2), Sperrin Integrated College, Magherafelt (2-0) and then Rathmore Grammar (3-2) in a pulsating semi-final. This very talented squad will have another six years in the College to go one step better.
