The College marked Organ Donation Week in style — with a Bake Off celebrating the European Day of Languages! Pupils and staff brought their creativity to the kitchen, and our very own “Pollock Hollywood” had the tough job of judging.
Conor McQuillan (Year 9) wowed us all with his globe-shaped cake, taking home the Student Bake Off crown!
In LLW lessons, Key Stage 3 pupils explored the importance of organ donation, sparking powerful conversations and raising awareness.
Staff proudly wore pink to show their support, and together we raised an incredible £637 for Donate4Dáithí — a cause close to our hearts. Miss Finn, who received a cornea transplant in February 2024, shared her story, making the event even more meaningful.
We were honoured to welcome Dáithí and his dad Máirtín to the College to receive the donation. Their campaign led to the passing of Dáithí’s Law, introducing a soft opt-out organ donation system in Northern Ireland.
Go raibh míle maith agaibh to everyone who baked, donated, and took part! 💚
Mar thoradh ar an fheachtas Donate4Dáithí, ritheadh Dlí Dáithí, córas scar-rogha do Dheonú Orgán i dTuaisceart na hÉireann. Ba mhór an onóir dúinn fáilte a chur roimh Dáithí agus a athair Máirtín chuig Coláiste Mhaolmhaodhóg leis an deonachán a bhronnadh.
Ba mhaith linn ár mbuíochas a gabháil le gach duine a bhácáil, a thug síntiús agus a ghlac páirt 💚
