On Tuesday 18th November, the Livestock and Meat Commission (LMC) visited GCSE students in the Home Economics Department. The demonstration, that was open to pupils from Years 11 and 12, included a talk and cookery lesson.
Lucky students were then given the opportunity to taste a variety of fantastic dishes (ranging from spicy chicken fajitas to a tasty beef curry) as well as brush up on food safety. In addition, students learned about the nutritional value of different foodstuffs and the importance of buying meat from local resources (this can be achieved by looking out for the LMC stamp on labels).
