U15 Belfast Schools’ Cup Update

On Thursday 24th of November, the College’s U15 team travelled to the west of the city to face St Colm’s, Twinbrook for their second round tie in the Belfast Schools’ Cup.

The game (played on the 3G pitch at The Brook) ‘began quite evenly’ according to Mr McAllister (U15 Coach). However, as the first half progressed, the North Belfast boys began to dominate possession and their patience finally paid off as they headed into half time three goals to the good, thanks to Lorcan Small and Bobby Burns (2).

Despite some early substitutions in the second half, St Malachy’s refused to relinquish their hold of the game and the boys from St Colm’s did not make it easy. After failing to convert several chances, the goals eventually came; Bobby Burns added another two, taking his tally to an impressive four for the match. Adam Connolly’s goal secured a resounding 6-0 win for the College.

Congratulations to all the team (and their coaches) and we wish them the very best for the next round.
