As part of the Year 14 Enrichment Programme through the course of term one, students have enjoyed a variety of talks given by visiting speakers. This month, special guest, Richard Moore was invited to speak to students about his charity, Children in Crossfire.

Mr Moore’s story is an inspirational one; at the age of twelve he lost his eyesight (he was shot and seriously injured by a rubber bullet in Derry during The Troubles). This life-changing event motivated Mr Moore to establish a charity with the aim of helping children and young people caught up in conflict. This year’s Formal Committee made a donation to the charity on behalf of all the Year 14s and Owen Murray said ‘Mr Moore’s message to never give up on your hopes and dreams was very inspiring’.
