Year 13 Drama students experience ‘ A Day with Bruiser’

A Level Drama students enjoyed a full day of workshops with local theatre company Bruiser in Lisburn S.E.R.C. on Monday 26th of January.

The day was action-packed from start to finish, however it began rather gently with a series of drama games primarily designed to put students at their ease. Other sessions looked at the process of devising drama as well as exploring physical techniques from the Le Coq and Complicite theatre groups and a master class with Lisa May (resident Bruiser Director) on Epic Theatre. The highlight of the day was a performance from a group of Bruiser actors as they brought extracts from recent productions of Bouncers and Candide to life, with the customary innovation and humour for which the acting company is renowned.

Year 13 students have selected Bruiser as their practitioner for their practical exam, and will stage an extract from The History Boys in the Drama Studio in April.
