The College picked up its second consecutive victory in the Darren Clarke Schools Golf League with a narrow win over OLSPCK. On a beautiful day, both sets of boys must have been devastated to have to miss school to play Dunmurry Golf Club! It was a close contest all the way. Number one golfer and captain Karl Fox, who has been a rock all year, lost on the last green but the multi talented sportsman Lewis McGarvey ensured that parity was established with a comprehensive 5&3 victory. Cormac 'happy' Gillespie won 5&3 to put the College out in front but Jai Benson's opponent chipped in for birdie on the sixteenth much to Jai's dismay after he had played a wonderful bunker shot to two feet! Two matches each and all to play for, James Crummey wasn't quite able to repeat his heroics of the first win as he went down 5&3. It was left to CJ Fulton and Matthew McLaughlin to try to close out the match which they did in slightly different fashions. CJ won his match 5&3 after a good performance. Matthew looked like he was strolling to victory as he was four up with four holes remaining but left team manager Mr. Danny Fulton with a few more grey hairs as Matthew's opponent fought back bravely to take the next three holes. However, great credit to Matthew as he hung on for victory for himself and the College.
