In October 2014 four year 13 boys (now year 14), Tomas Eastwood, Manus Mullin, Fionntan Warren and David Moore, visted the School of Civil Engineering at Queens to help the Final year Civil Engineering students build a meccano bridge that would be placed across the River Lagan in an attempt to break a World Record. Last week, the meccano bridge was erected and on Saturday, the Head of the School of Engineering walked over the bridge in front of a large crowd and lots of media. A lady from the Guinness Book of World Records then confirmed that it was indeed the largest meccano structure in the world breaking a world record! Our boys were awarded medals for their participation in the project!
