Monday 28th September was a landmark day for Year 8.
The much anticipated Year 8 Student Council Elections took place in a fair, free and democratic manner.
Mr McKenna and the A Level Politics class supported by Thomas McAuley, Senior Prefect with Responsibility for KS3 and his team, distributed the ballot papers. The tension was palpable.
Ten strong speakers, well prepared and highly articulate took to the floor to convince us as to why they should be our chosen representatives.
There were many strong ideas, speeches and much passion.
However, victory fell to two truly worthy candidates.
Pearse Rogers 8C and Somhairle Owens Fisher 8E were voted for, and won, by clear majorities.
We thank all the boys and their families who took part in this election and we look forward to their commitment in the year to come.
