On Wednesday 21st September the A level Art students visited the Mac and Belfast Exposed galleries. The main exhibition at the Mac was the David Hockney's "I draw I do " exhibition . This is the first significant exhibition of his work in Ireland and it includes a wide range of work from his early graphite landscapes to his more recent iPad portraits.
Next up was Keith Wilson's intriguing installation sculpture entitled "Calendar". In this piece the students were able to squeeze through a gap to see the sculpture from inside and try to work out the meaning.
Finally, at Belfast Exposed, Hannah Watson gave a very interesting talk about the photographic work currently on display. It was interesting to look at the work again after hearing the Artists' intentions and to see the gallery's photography archive.
