On Wednesday 25th January, English Literature pupils from St. Malachy’s, Dominican and Rathmore came together for a lecture on the Gothic presented by Kingston University lecturer, Dr. Eadaoin Agnew.
This was followed by a workshop in which pupils debated whether the main purpose of Gothic literature was simply “thrilling horror” and considered what deductions we may make about the socio-cultural contexts of Frankenstein and Dracula.
