Parents, teachers and friends of Year 13 Drama students were treated to a wonderful evening of innovative and original theatre last night when they performed their AS practical pieces.
Daniel Lawlor, Brendan Kerr and Jordan Malone kicked off the evening’s entertainment with a highly engaging, physical reimagining of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, followed by a modern Belfast adaptation of A Servant of Two Masters featuring Anthony Haughey as stingy businessman Dr. Paisley and Ciaran Carson and Ronan O’Reilly as star-crossed lovers Sophie and Martin whose “cheeky chappy” servant was performed by Matthew Cullen with great comic timing. Daire O’Neill starred as Richard Hannay in The 39 Steps with Christopher Anderson and Tom Deazley between them playing eight roles with inventiveness and skill including a Milkman, a Scottish crofter and…..his wife!
A second extract from the play featured the excellent partnership of Michael Largey and Oisin Thompson as The Clowns – again playing a multitude of roles, with Oisin Donaghy transforming from a bored administrative assistant to the star of his very own action movie!
Congratulations to all of the students involved who are to be commended for their hard work, creativity and determination.
