It has been a very busy week for the GCSE LLW students. On Monday they were invited to share their thoughts of teaching and learning controversial issues with a group of student teachers from St Mary’s and Stranmillis University Colleges. They were extremely articulate and able to pass on very useful advice.
On Tuesday we had a visit from Paul McCusker, local Councillor and founder of Homeless Aware. Paul spoke very candidly about the issues of homelessness, addiction and mental health problems in North Belfast and beyond. He went on to discuss his work at St Patrick’s soup kitchen an outline the benefits of volunteering. Once again the LLW students engaged in a discussion and we able to share their own volunteering experiences.
