On Wednesday 28th November and Tuesday 4th December Years 9 and 10 celebrated the success of our first cohort of Accelerated Reader ‘Word Millionaires’.

Miss O’Hare and Mr McGuinness presented certificates to those Malachians who have already succeeded in reading more than one million words. To have done so before the end of the Christmas term is a great achievement.

Congratulations go to Gabriel Onojorhoevwo, Thomas Leggett, Manus McAlister, Gareth Kennedy and Oran Nugent in Year 10. The Word Millionaires in Year 9 are Eoin Goodyear, Toby Higgins, Thomas Irvine, Jake Massingham, Dualta Teer, John McKay, Barra Kelly and Jake Calo.

Participation across both years has been very encouraging: by the end of the Christmas term 975 (nearly one thousand) novels have been read by the pupils of Years 9 and 10. Well done and keep reading!
