Year 8 Candlelight Vigil to ‘Shine a Light’ on Poverty and Homelessness

On Tuesday 17th of December, Year 8 students led a special candlelight vigil to ‘shine a light’ on poverty and homelessness.

The event marked the culmination of a month of tireless fundraising to help those less fortunate in our local community and beyond.

Throughout December, students spent time in tutorial groups and R.E classes discussing the vital work carried out by various charitable organisations at this time of year. In particular, the College recognised the services provided by St Vincent de Paul, Barnardos, Maeve House and The Morning Star Hostel and as such, donated hampers, gifts, toys and clothing to their Christmas campaigns.

All in the College are tremendously proud of the boys for their kindness and care for those in need and we cannot express our gratitude to their families and friends for their total commitment to these very worthwhile causes.
