International Sporting and Cultural Exchange - Golf

The international sporting and cultural exchange programme in the College added a new strand over the past week with the hosting of the Monsignor Bonner & Archbishop Prendergast High School golf team from Philadelphia. The Bonner golfers were hosted by College pupils.

The boys played at Fortwilliam, Greenacres, Concra Wood, Ardglass and Belvoir Park over a six day stretch. The boys had a terrific time on and off the golf course further strengthening the tremendous relationship we have with our friends in Philadelphia.

The students involved were Hugh O'Hare, Karl Fox, Lewis McGarvey, Cormac Gillespie, Jai Benson, Kelan Benson, CJ Fulton, Matthew McLaughlin, James Crummey. Former members of staff Danny Fulton, Pat Kane, Terry Sonner, Paul McCrory and John Morrin alongside golfers Niall McDonagh, Callum Donnelly and Sean Joe Rooney got involved. A massive thanks to our host families, The O'Hare Family, the Eastwood Family, The Cooke Family, the Gillespie Family, the McBrien Family and the Benson Family. Without them this trip would not have been possible.

The College would also like to thank Mr Danny Fulton for hosting the boys at Fortwilliam, Mr Paul McCrory and Dr. John Morrin for hosting at Greenacres and Mr Terry Sonner for hosting the boys at Belvoir.

We wish the Bonner golf team led by Mr Jack Glacken and Mr. Dennis Murray every success in their upcoming season. They are Joe and Rob Dougherty, Dylan Willams, Pat Lord, Luke Nolan, Cory McGrenara, Colin Clay and Trevor Ogden.
